Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello PH'ers, I just sold my Mini cooper and planning to buy a porsche cayman 987 in 2016. Which one is the best option a 2.9 or 2.7, any specific problems associated? I cannot buy a cayman s since I live in Belgiun an the yearly tax we have to pay for bigger engines is ridiculuous.

POST 2Original post

I started a thread on the same recently, this may help! http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

So you bought an 2,9, satisfied? Personally I prefer the 2.9, cabin&exterior looks nicer and 2.9 engine is probally more robust. Do you have a stick or pdk?

POST 4Original post

I haven't made a purchase yet, but think the 2.9 is winning for me. Will cost a bit more but I will appreciate the extra power, better interior more I think.

POST 5Original post

I'd go for the 2.9. Newer and better engine. Better styling too.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm also a little bit afraid that i doesn't have enough torque for my taste. A few years ago we had a Boxster 2.5 from 1998, and the engine was doing nothing below 4000rpm and at 6500rpm it was all over.
