Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok I bought a set of dirt cheap muffler tips. They look like techipment but no item number on them so I am not sure. Anyways, once mounted they are super short and dont' clear the bumper, I decided to mount them anyways to give it a go. what do you think ? will it burn the bumper ? so far temperature is 'normal' and I think the look is stealthy, I like it

POST 2Original post

I think they're too short...but my personal bias is towards the standard MK2 tips - which really balance the car well. My second choice is the overlapping sports tips

POST 3Original post

LOVE the look but concern is that you'll get soot all over the bumper...........I don't think you'll have temperature troubles but I wouldn't rule out the soot.....

POST 4Original post

Too short. I'll put it this way, if your tally-wacker was that short, your GF/wife would have left you long ago!

POST 5Original post

Interesting... I just put these on a Mk1 today and they fit quite nicely. I did not realize that the bumpers were different.

POST 6Original post

There is an ugly deformity in the paint in the third pic.

Are those Jesus sandals?

POST 9Original post

i would be worried about carbon monoxide building up under the car during traffic, if it doesn't clear the car..... but I'm a freak and that's how I think...:-) on closer inspection though.. It might not be a problem here.. it looks like it clears JUST enough for the exhaust not to get behind the bumper cover and start to build up..

POST 10Original post

Way too short... I have these MK2 Fabspeeds f/s if anyone is interested...
