I wanted to get another car to play with and now that 996tt is so damn expensive, I fgured id mess with a cheaper 996 . Has anyone done a nice turbo kit or is S/C the preferred bolt on FI for this chassis?

I don’t believe such a thing exists. Some have added a Vorsteiner(sp?) supercharger that has limited boost so it won’t destroy the engine. Hardly worth the expense or effort in my opinion. The turbo motors have lower compression and stronger internals than the basic 996 non turbo motors and they can even tolerate a modest increase in boost and tuning over stock. Find yourself a well cared for 996 TT and mod it yourself. You will spend less money and enjoy more time driving in the long run.
