Does anyone know that what is the weight of our hood ? I am thinking to customade a ture carbon fiber hood for my CS. Thx for the info.

I'm not sure that you'll save much weight as the hood is aluminum. If you get CF thick enough to not quiver at speed, weight savings, if any, will be negligable. New door skins in CF have been suggested. I think there is already a vendor making them.

It kills me what people will do for 10 pounds here or there. The fact that most people are 20 or so pounds overweight is more than most of those weights savings everyone agonizes over (exhaust, etc....)

Totally agree. It's even funnier with guys with bicycles. People will spend $1,000s to take off a few pounds or even grams. Meanwhile they're 30 pounds overweight.

That's it - I'm bucking this light weight trend. I'm going on a weight gain program (well, ok, a formal one), getting steel, no, make that pounded lead, panels, adding a depleted uranium sunroof and puttin' some 22's on it to increase rotational mass - and they had better be stamped steel or else someone's goin' a be hearing about it! Oh, and I'm driving down to Mexico to get some of the cheapest low octane fuel and putting gear oil in the crankcase - 12 litres of it!

You should do some lead oversized drive pulleys and a set of cattle horns bolted to the hood.

I've had mine off- it's already feather light. DON'T bother!
