Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thinking of wrapping my 996 4S in white. What's the concensus....??

POST 2Original post

If you want WOW factor, why not just carbon wrap the whole thing?!! Have you had a quote for that yet? I got one for a van, it was a lot lot more than i expected

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll wrap it myself - it's what we do...! already have a carbon effect wrap on the roof - which I'll keep. Just looking for feedback on the overall look. Generally don't see any 996's in white.. (GT2/3 aside)

POST 4Original post

Do it!! All cars look awesome in white, i miss my Ibis white audi

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 8Original post

POST 9Original post

Matte black is the new White. I still like White though, I saw a wrapped car a little while ago and it was a few yers old the wrap was starting to peal and look a little shabby but if you can do it yourself and maintain it then go for it! Dare to be different I say.

POST 10Original post

Agree with Sy; if you can do it yourself so a) guarantees a good job, b) easy to do DIY maintenance if required, c) low(er) costs and d) can easily whip it off when you come to sell, go for it. I think white looks good on a 996 personally...

POST 11Original post

Personally, if you were to wrap it... why do it in white? if the point is to make it stand out and look different and advertise the wrap... white is pretty much a standard colour... I think if you were to wrap do it in a colour or style that is unique... Thats my 2 cents...

POST 12Original post

white is the new black .Nearly all new car launches over the last year have been white. But paint is better.

POST 13Original post

Spectraluk, If you do this sort of thing, i.e. vinyl wrap cars, have you ever done a 996 with a GT3/Aero Kit. I'm very tempted to have my Guards Red 996 (with GT3 Kit) wrapped in matt red vinyl but am wondering how a spoiler as curvy as the GT3's would fair with being wrapped? I am out in Singapore and saw a F430 Spider with a matt red wrap and looked stunning. I would be interested in having a quote to do this if you think you're up to the task??? :thumb:

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Kiwi, been there, done that - want something a little more subtle now....
