Hi, Long time lurker, first time poster my partner has just brought the above she let me have a play and I was surprised at the on board computers mpg reading of 15.1, her driving style is 'spirited' as is mine when I get to play, personally thought this was a bit low? maybe its me just expecting more?
On my 02 x50 I've had it as low as 15 and as high as 26 but I average 21-22 on a day to day basis.
did a 2.5k europe trip last month, germany,austria and averaged 20.8, and that was with one little blast on the autobahn, 270 miles in 2 and a half hours :mrgreen:
Sounds ok that actually. I think they are pretty good on fuel for the performance you get.
That's an average of 108mph - Were you stuck in 3rd gear :?: MPG wise mine has just averaged 22.8 on the trip to Le Mans and back with some very spirited blasts. Back at home on its normal country road commute and town work I see about 15 - 16.

If I go out for a drive in my non-x50 turbo (tiptronic) I have seen as low as 12.8mpg average over 150 miles. This takes some dedication for it to be this low though (not on a track). I tend to get 20-25 when just driving and not thinking about it, then up to 30 when doing a long steady drive on the motorway.
