Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hello all, Recently my 06 CS has been making some noise when I am driving when the engine is not up to temp. When I'm in first/second gear and releasing the throttle, the rpm drops and the noise gets louder from 2.5-2k rpm (sound like when you put a piece of paper in a spinning wheel or fan). There was one time that the noise became really loud and the Bettery/Generator warning came up. It went away within a second and the car was totally fine later on that day. What I found out more was that the noise is not present if I keep the throttle input and/or when it's above 2.8k rpm. It only happens when throttle input is not present and during rpm dropping around 2.5-2k and when the engine is not up to temp. (I also experimented during the rpm drop, the noise goes away if I turn the AC off.) The battery is charged (I put the car on charger whenever I don't drive the car over a week) and everything seems fine. If anyone have had this happened before it'd be great if I can have some input on this. Thanks!

Sounds like you may have a faulty A/C compressor. Any decent A/C specialist should be able to confirm.

POST 3Original post

Hmm this is new to me. My AC does have really small chirping noise in the dash when its on 2-5 bars fan speed (goes away when fan not on or its on really high fan speed) So I assume I don't Have to go to a Porsche Specialist? (its a pita, most porsche specialists I saw locally does not open on weekends ) Thanks!
