Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Was intending to go look at a 986S this weekend at a dealer on the other side of Scotland to me but they've now accepted a deposit on it. A porsche specialist a little nearer to home Who I was asking about doing inspections has suggested a 987 with low mileage but "only" a 2.7. Obviously slightly less bhp but what other differences would I find. Guess weight is similar so not quite as swift off the line should I hillclimb it but what about brakes, suspension etc. Is the "S" the one to have and maybe the most "valuable" in years to come? Thanks

POST 2Original post

I have just today has this conversation of 986s vs 987 I looked at both and decided to get the 986s. The 40bhp difference I don’t think is noticeable driving normally. The 987 obviously looks more modern and I hope the S will become more of a classic and keep its value.
