Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi guys, I know its quite normal to have some smoke on start up, especially after its been left sitting for about a week but i have recently noticed that its only really coming from the driver side! Does this mean an engine problem? has anyone else had this happen? cheers guys Peter

POST 6Original post

Had the same problem with drivers side. I noticed the oil level was showing a little high when parked in my garage which has a slight slope. After a couple of weeks with smokey starts the problem went away and the oil level is now normal so maybe the excess oil got burnt away. Touch wood the car has been as good as gold since. Hope yours is as simple.

Hi Guys Regarding the smoke from one side! I have recently heard reports of other cars having this too, seperate to our cars. The consensus seems to be nothing much to worry about (phew!) and seems more prevalent in higher mileage cars or if you leave it sitting around for long periods. Hope this helps. Also i reported to Tognola engineering that i had a screech sound occasionally on start up and he said that it is an early sign that the starter motor is on the way out but not to worry until the screech gets more regular! So not the end of the world. Peter
