Nailed a deer on a dark road and broke the driver side headlight lens on my 2021 718 Cayman. Even with a discount parts supplier the LED ( PDLS ) replacement for the headlight unit is $2595.00. Ouch! There are some excellent You Tube and Wikipedia turtorials/videos on removing/installing the headlight lens. The question I have for the audience is do you have any recommendations for where to source the lens? There are several companies on the internet / eBay that offer lens but I would really appreciate hearing from someone that had good results with a particular vendor. Also any words of wisdom on removing the old lens. The "oven" route seems to be the best. Thanks.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Sounds like a "comprehensive" coverage insurance claim versus collision for example. So cost would only be whatever your "comprehensive" coverage deductible requires. Under those circumstances, I'd let the dealer handle it.
Don't you have comprehensive coverage that would cover the broken lens or even the complete headlight unit?

Thanks for replies however I’m not going the insurance route.
