Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 2Original post

Ah the rumor mill, that pic has been around awhile

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, the picture has been around, but READ the ARTICLE underneath the picture. Autospies is EXTREMELY reliable with their info.

POST 6Original post

What I have heard so far is that it will actually be out "on the streets" at the end of 2004, but last I heard, the 3.8l 350HP engine will be reserved for the 911"S" version to be released later on. If that turns out to be true, the 2004 997 will be a bit disappointing, 350Hp is not asking too much now a days . But I personally don't think Porsche will release a new model w/o some more HP than the previous. Last time that happened was in the "dark ages" with the '78 SC.

POST 7Original post

These articles will keep coming out. There will be little variations here and there, and possibly some big variations, just so they can say "We said it first". It's fun, but it's still all speculation, based on a crystal ball.

POST 8Original post

Interestingly enough, the latest issue of Excellence has a similar photo--as a possible 2005 redesign. The Excellence photo is of a cabrio, and the interesting thing is the rather tall rear deck lid. V8?!? Flat 8 !!!!???? Lots of room in the pic.

POST 9Original post

I just read the same article in the latest Excellence... I really hope is a flat 8!!! That is going to be one sweet engine (if the additional weight does not create more problems)

POST 10Original post

Well I also hope the 4 exhaust tips on it are for real and not for camouflage. Four exhaust tips on a 911 who has always been 6cil. looks really stupid unless it really has an 8cil inside. I don't think the super-wide wheel arches are for real since the extra-wide 19" wheels (with RED calipers BTW) don't even fill them. The car in the pics is a 996 with lowered suspensions,GT3 roll cage and add-on wheel arches on top and fake front bumper with different lights. All the rest is the same, windows, rear lights, doors and handles, hood, roof, mirrors, rear bumper, etc. Maybe its the new GT3 due next year or a publicity stunt.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
