Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Hello, I picked up a gen 2 Cayman S a few weeks ago and I've noticed that it makes this strange pulsating noise. I believe it mainly does it when it's cold so hopefully just something trying to warm up the engine etc? Has anyone had the same noise? What is it? Is it normal? I'm planning on changing the water pump as a preventative measure as it is approaching 60k miles, so part of me hopes that it is this...

POST 2Original post

I would try to drill down on the location and source of the sound then move forward from there.

POST 3Original post

Well I know it's coming from the engine bay but I don't really fancy taking it to bits just yet. Hoping someone has come across this before.

POST 4Original post

The rear access panel isn't hard to remove, a remarkable amount of information can be gleaned with that removed.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
