Hi all, Another stereo question I'm afraid. I've already searched, but there are so many threads on the topic. I've a 2004 C2 with MOST system, and the audio is terrible. I fancy the Porsche classic radio which I believe has DAB and satnav. Simple question... Can I remove my cdr23 and fit this? What would need to be replaced? Would a standard auto electrician be able to do this with minimum hassle? Cheers for any info. Dave

Thanks for the link. That's really useful. Turns out the Porsche classic radio doesn't have DAB, so that's a non starter. The Panasonic's you picked look very good for sensible money. Dave
One question - in your write up you describe attaching the dab antenna to the windscreen. Does this mean that you connect into the existing windscreen antenna or do you need to route a new one? How hard is it to do? I don't much fancy stripping the dash down. Cheers Dave
Dab antennas are stuck to the inside of the screen and normally on the passenger side , A post trim removal is needed which isnt hard to be honest , then you can run the wire and tuck it by the door seal around the dash and under the passenger side (remove the lower foam panel ). Btw .. Porsche classic radio .. erm .. yeah .. dont bother . A post .. 1 then 7 then pull up from the dash .
Thanks for the manual page. It looks like it should be straightforward. Are there any tricks to getting the trim off? Are there likely to be broken 15 year old plastic trim clips after it's removed? Cheers Dave
Full manual can be downloaded here and i expect its in body internal .. http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=83491 i think its pretty easy .. but ive removed rather a lot of them so i would ! Coat hanger panel puls out .. trim tool is advised .. The A post trim basically pulls outwards so towards you whilst in the car (start at the B post end ) .... its firmly in place so again a trim tool might be needed .. once its unclipped then you raise it up and out from the dash .. you will then see the metal clip it locates on .. you need to refit it useing this .. its obvious though . Trim clips are metal .. they dont break on removal only on refitting when they havent lined up properly .. then they are just flat .
Brilliant - thanks for the advice. I'll be giving it a go! Cheers Dave
