Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

42 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Photo test and first gratuitous photo... Just wanting to see if we can post photos from 986host.com

POST 2Original post

Title says it all... there are some really weird Aston Martin's out there. Some are really nice and some are horrible. Either way it's interesting to look at. I'll get it started: Nissan 370z wheels?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Works when you preview the message, but not on the actual post.

POST 4Original post

Best car on here...DB9 Zagato Volante. Would sell all my cars for that one (still not enough bucks, however).

POST 5Original post

I dont know why they do that but Iwill email them and ask permission - in the meantime setup a gallery for yourself

Quote: I just sent an email to them asking the same. Guess we shall see.

POST 8Original post

I think the Lagonda is just weird looking. The Vulcan looks like one of the Hot Wheels you had when you were a kid - the good ones!

POST 9Original post

just spoke to the owner jason ( nicest guy ) and he will add us to his site for linking pictures! Thanks Jason!

POST 10Original post

The Lagonda just photographs badly. Its actually much better in person. The Vulcan photographs well and is just plain mean/evil looking in person. Here is one more I found on my hard drive from a car meet a few months ago...

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey is that a Bubb Rubb emoticon?

POST 14Original post

Needs a big meatball, no number, just a meatball in the middle of the doors. Should be a shade or two lighter than the Tungsten body color.

POST 15Original post

LOL I can't believe there is an animated gif of the whistle tip guy

Quote: Um, maybe you see different pic than I do. What DB9 Zagato Volante? There's a wretched looking mess that certainly looks like the crap that Zagato does, but it looks like it has a solid roof. Meanwhile, in the awesome list: DBS Long Roof!

POST 19Original post

Why's it so small? I'm refering to the picture, wise ***!

POST 20Original post

Ahh, that one. Is it actually referred to as a DB9 anymore? I know that's what it was built on but thought it was given some special name. Also, kinda odd to weigh in on a car that's mostly not visible, but I guess since most of us have probably seen pics of it before, it makes some sense. Well, of all of the things Zagato has done to Aston Martins, that set is the most pleasant to look at.

POST 22Original post

Just sold at auction for around $650K. Too rich for me, unfortunately.

POST 24Original post

Quote: A One-77 would have been a better investment...I think. I can't imagine the original owner spent much less than $450 on the car when he ordered it. Anyone know? Makes me wonder about the cost of all of those custom coach builds. The Bertone Rapide shooting brake, etc. On top of the price of the car, what's the coach builder price?

POST 25Original post

Not sure why people wrap their cars in this crap... This however is awesome.

POST 26Original post

Quotes source post: 4397007

Quote: Over a million for the car + custom design & build. That's what made it a great buy at auction. It'll be worth far more than any 1-77 20 years from now.

POST 27Original post

Quotes source post: 4397024

Quote: What about the recent trajectory suggests to you that the value will actually increase? It's a very unique car with a very limited appeal. Just because it's rare and originally very expensive, doesn't mean anyone else will ever value it as much as the original owner. See also; custom architecture. You said "over a million for the car + custom design and build". What does that mean. There's the "base" DB9 price ($250k or so?), then the cost for custom design and build. What's the million? Are you saying that the custom design and build was $1m? That seems excessive for some custom body work and some glass, but maybe that stuff is more than I'd expect. I was thinking it would be in the $200k-$300k range. The One-77 on the other hand was a limited production super car, built by the actual car company. According to an AM rep at the PB event, one was just resold by the AM Works shop for double it's original value. I have trouble imagining any of the 77 units ever going for less.

POST 29Original post

Over $1 million total. Way more valuable down the road than 1-77 because: 1 of 1 Long tradition of AM and Zagato tie ups One of the stars at the Centennary Shown at Villa d'Este Shown at Pebble Beach 'Limited appeal' is not important when it is one of one. Vanquish Zagato Roadster doubled in value since 2009/10 ($300K to >$600K)

POST 31Original post

Dear Karl,You are not free to simply drop that here without so much as a hint. Mother of god, what is that beautiful beast and when can I see one?

POST 32Original post

I think that is a car magazine rendering of what the DB11 could look like.

POST 34Original post

Looks analogous to the BMW i8 pooping out a 911 from its butt, where in this case the DB11 is regurgitating a Vantage from its mouth.

POST 35Original post

Kinda like how Alien has a mouth within his mouth. LOL. Thing is, I still think it looks good. It has enough AM style without looking dated. Betcha it would be a head-turner IRL.

POST 36Original post

I can't help it but the front of the new Aston Karl posted looks like a catfish!

POST 37Original post

Wow Karl that's a great rendering. Love the floating a-pillar. One more:
