I have heard and seen (but can't find where now) a mod for the standard airbx and fitting a performance panel filter. you have to cut or drill allowing more flow through filter. Does anyone know or seen this mod or did i just dream about it. Thanks Tim

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Don't do it. You would probably pull in warm air - not good for performance. As for drilling, if you mean on the post filter side or through filter - anything that bypasses the filter risks damaging your engine. Would you be prepared to just pull the filter out?
It is done to the left side as you look into the engine bay. Believe it was originated by RUF.
