Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hello, While fiddling with all the gadgets in my newly purchased CS, the SIMM slot on the PCM gave me a thought.... Is there anything out there that would allow a jump drive or memory card (any type) to be inserted into a slot mounted anywhere that could feed into the PCM as an MP3 (or whatever other encoding) audio source ? A CD simply does not hold enough songs to make it practical. Song/file information would not necessarily be required to feed the PCM. This would be much simpler than an IPod:beer:

Check out the search and you would have found this: IceLink 500 Gateway - My Articles Bumperplugs Denison FAQ

Thanks Nick, the link does briefly mention the usb input. The Dension website is a little more informative. Unfortunately, I don't have an IPod or any other need for the Dension's capabilities so it seems like overkill. I'll stick with the CD's.

POST 4Original post

I believe you can plug in a memory stick to the Denison unit.

POST 5Original post

You have to spend a lot less money on a car if you want things like a built-in hard drive for your music and a compact flash slot...LOL.

POST 6Original post

Or go with the aftermarket route, which will add alot of utility.

POST 7Original post

I've decided to forgo the memory stick option and have the Cayenne XM kit installed, along with a Parrot. I've never been into music files much (seems everyone else I know is) but I thought if there was an easy, cheap solution......Oh well. I love the XM in my wife's '08 CTS so this will maintain consistency and familiarity. Besides, it's commercial-free tunes I'm after and I was going to have XM no matter what. My guess is that this will more than suffice. Thanks for the feedback.
