Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hey folks! I bought a 997.1 gt3 CF front bumper vent recently and wanting to install it on my 2008 987.1 Boxster S . Does anybody know where can I buy/loan a gt3 template? I know that Rennline sells it for $75, but it's only for one time use. Any suggestion? I live in SoCal.

POST 2Original post

I just did it freehand on my 987. I traced around the vent to get a basic idea of the shape and cut an undersized hole and opened it up where needed to get the vent to fit properly.

POST 3Original post

Thanks for the response. I thought about doing that too, but kinda thought that having a template like the one from Rennline will works best. Btw, what did you use to keep it in place? Any before and after photos?

POST 4Original post

I have one that you can have for $25 plus shipping. It is the Rennline unit. It is a metal template, fit and trace. I then glued the piece in place with silicone. No pictures since I changed everything to a GT3 front bumper.

POST 5Original post

I think I made some aluminum tabs to retain the vent. It's been a while. I'll look next time I have the bumper off
