Oak mentioned a great idea to me the other day. He suggested that we get a group of folks together and rent a local track for the day. He estimated that it would cost approximately $3,000. $150 x 20 for virtually unlimited driving. What do you think? Craig (L.A.)

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I am not sure how this would work, but to rent out a track like that I think that everyone that drives must have a competition license. I do not think they will just let anybody drive as fast as they want on the track, there is a certain amount of liability there. I may be totally wrong but this is just a guess. When PCA or others do an event they have instructors etc and insurance.
Silver's got a point. OTOH, if the track will let you do it, and that the 20 or so people understand that they are all on their own and absolve everybody else of any liability, why not?
Craig, The Buttonwillow events sound good! I'll check to see if any of the dates work. We have rented tracks for our stock cars on occasion, but of course we had NASCAR licenses. I think some type of affiliation would be necessary.
For those of you who haven't done a Tracquest DE event, I highly recommend it! Todd runs a well-organized, safe event, with lots of track time. I've been to 3 of them (2 Willow Springs, 1 Thunderhill), and in addition to scraping off some of your tread, you'll have a blast! Enjoy!
