I recently purchased a 2000 Boxster S 6 Speed. I would like to find a source for a new OEM shifter boot with the fake aluminum trim at the bottom. I called the dealer and they wanted $301. I can by a really nice aftermarket shifter for less than half that but would prefer to stick with OEM parts. Does anyone know of a good source for wholesale prices? Do you know the part number? Thank you for the help.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Can't help you with the boot & trim piece, but... Welcome to the forum and congrates on the 986S.
I'm not sure which dealer you called but Sunset Porsche is a great resource value and service wise. Their parts prices are usually substantially less than other dealerships even with shipping. Don't hesitate to call them and ask for what you need, they'll find the correct part # and have you a quote in seconds: Porsche Dealer | Beaverton, Oregon | Sunset Porsche
