Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

DCE: see your other post regarding your pal's 3.4 engine... I would sell your car and buy a 996TT - these are now mid £20K ish and won't depreciate too much or blow up (the 996TT engine is based on the old 3.6 air cooled bottom end and tends to not snap idle shaft/crack liners/etc. etc.). Plus your C2 has brakes etc. for 300hp, the 996TT for 430. The 906TT is famous as being The Supercar to drive everyday, a C2 with a blower would eventually be famous for being a car with a new engine (may be from a Cayman??)
AH yeah, thanks. I forgot i will need to get brakes upgraded ect. I think i will just leave it. I don't really like the 911 turbo's (996). I just like modding my own baby. A guy near me has one and its always getting repaired. It's his every day drive though. I was going to just keep my 996 c2 because i adore the shape and bodykit it's got. Eventually, if things go well next year i plan on getting a brand new one. I will always keep my 996 c2 though. Also, most of the TT's out there are probably for sale because they have been thrashed and need massive work. If i was going to get a turbo it would be a 993. When iby cars at the time, i never think of resale value. I read a foruma while ago and all americans are shitting bricks over resale value.I cant understand why people by porsches and worry about that. I buy it because i "want it" not to buy it and look after it for someone else. That's why i love my mods But yeah, im glad you pointed out that about the brakes. I cant believe it slipped my mind.
DCE, I too have been contemplating the supercharger kit, but probably won't for the fear of blowing my engine to smithereens, but I know exactly where you are coming from. I have a 1998 996 C2 in guards red with the GT3 kit, bilstein suspension so sits looowww, and once I get home from singapore she's getting K&N induction kit and Fabspeed cat bypass x-pipe (can't wait to try with my stainless headers and muffler bypass pipes on the next trackday, will be sweeet!). Anyway my point being that I love my C2, I personally think that the smooth curvy lines are easier on the eye than the turbo and I cannot possibly think of anything else that I could get for the 15k I would probably get if I tried to sell. I would rather keep it than sell it for that price, worth much more to me that I have the car as I want it.
