I have a 2006 Boxster S with 41,000 miles. I'm the second owner, bought it with 18,000 on the odometer. Over the past 2 weekends I had a strange experience that is making me wonder if I need a new clutch. Was in 5th gear around 4,000 rpm. Went to accelerate and the rev's jumped quickly, but acceleration didn't match revs. Both times the car was about an hour in to the drive, it wasn't aggressive driving, and appeared to go away after I took my foot out of it. Around town, in lower gears, it doesn't seem to be slipping, although about a month or so ago I though I was getting a little vibration in the clutch pedal when letting it out. It was subtle enough to make me wonder if it was real or not. I'm thinking it's signs that I need a new clutch... Wanted to find out if anyone else has had a similar experience. Any / all comments appreciated. John

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Sure sounds like a slipping clutch to me.
Yup. If it's slipping, it will degrade quickly. Everything I've read tells me people are getting 40-60k out of these clutches, so sounds about right.
Thanks for the replies. Just wanted to see if I was missing something. Looks like it's new clutch time for me...
I had to replace mine in my cayman s at around 50k, sachs is the oem supplier, you can find them online. I got mine from parts geek for like $357. Fortunately I have a great mechanic and he just charged me to install.
