We are Porsche, and we will charge whatever we think we can get away with - and you will like it. The Porsche stand had its usual assortment of heavily-optioned cars that would challenge any enthusiast's personal price/value meter. Let's take the Guards Red 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet that was on display, for instance. The base price was $97,100, in and of itself questionable at the very least. But it also had $31,136 worth of options on it, including such whimsical touches as 'Air vent slats painted ext. color' - for $940.00. Or how about the 'Release lever, rear seats, leather' for $310.00? How's that for value pricing? Simply appalling. If it wasn't for the fact that we loved the Cayman so much, we would have kept right on walking past the Porsche display.

Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Value Special.

Porsche Cayman S.

The complete NAIAS rant is here: http://autoextremist.com/page2.shtml#Rant

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What's great about this site is the unbridled enthusiasm for the Cayman. The red painted interior is a little too much for me but if it suits your fancy, why not? At least you have the option available. I'm getting some interior painted options (CDM, CDJ) that I hope will be a nice complement to my cocoa leather, not an all out gottcha like the above interior. Really doesn't matter what others say, whether they're critical of the Cayman or not. They are entitled to their opinion but in the end the majority of the folks on this site only care about informed, unambiguous cheering for all things Cayman. Party on!
Carmon Red, Well said. I agree completely. Nobody can rain on my parade, I am in a mystical world of childlike excitement and I am going to stay right where I am! Thanks & Aloha Russ
Well I suppose that decked out Carrera makes the $100K Cayman mentioned in another thread seem inexpensive.
