Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

When I purchased my '08 Cayman S, the fuel cap tether had disappeared. I purchased an cap from Amazon (Blau) and it appears identical to the OEM. Now I'm trying to figure out where the tether attaches ... can someone take a pic of their cap/tether and show me where the tether connects? It has an expandable plug that fits thru the one hole near the fuel door pivot, but that hole won't allow the expansion rivet to expand (if that makes sense?).

I don't have a picture but that is the correct position. You need to place a very small screw driver in the center and push just enough so the plug can expand. I would even suggest you put a finger behind the hole to wiggle the plug a little while pushing so it does expand.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
