Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Alternative rotors for 2.7L 987 After 25K miles and a lot of DE's, my original rotors have developed extensive cracks--none connected or near the edge--even though they are only about 1/2 worn. Since this just happened after a 3 day DE, I would expect another DE would finish them. I have no real beefs with the OEM rotor but would like to avoid drilled rotors if possible. Does anyone make a slotted or solid disc for the base 987? Are cyro treated rotors any better? Thanks for any help.

POST 2Original post

Mike -- Did you end up making a rotor purchase after your original post earlier this summer?? I'm facing the same question; a 3-day school at Mid-Oh this past weekend resulted in some cracking near the drilled holes in my rotors. I'd only feel comfortable with about 1 more DE event. What are the preferred options out there for solid rotors? I found this post via search -- which is why I resurrected an old post.
