Getting ready to do our first oil change on our '09 CS and have gathered up all the necessary equipment/tools/supplies except for the oil filter wrench. I am aware of the oil filter wrench that works on Gen 1 cars, but am not sure if they will work on Gen 2 CS's. I emailed Suncoast about the official Porsche oil filter wrench they carry and they said the following: "The oil filter wrench you have listed is not meant to fit the new genertaion of sports cars. I think the techs get them to work in our shop, but in the past we have had customer return them for not fitting correctly. Right now that is the only oil filter wrench that Porsche offers." So, the question is, what are you using to remove the oil filter on your Gen 2 CS? Thanks! -Marshall

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The same cap wrench works on both generations. We have Gen1 and Gen2 cars.
Thanks for the quick response! Which wrench do you use? The FloTool #7?
Hazet 2169
Can someone confirm that the correct wrench for a Gen 2 Cayman is the Hazet 2169, as opposed to the 2169-1, -2, etc. Thanks
I have the box in front of me right now and it is just a "2169" with no dash-number on the end. It also says 14 point, 74.4mm and fits a 3/8 inch ratchet.
You'll need an extension to reach the filter; 6"+. The filter is harder to reach than the GEN 1.
