Does anyone have straight pipes installed on their 996 Turbo? I was looking into getting the FVD Straight pipes which bolt direct onto the turbo. I contacted the FVD UK dealer and was informed the following: 1) That if the pipes were installed without installing the FVD tuning chip then my power output would go down. This I find hard to believe as normally on turbo cars the less back pressure the better, unless of course the engine goes into some sort of 'safety' mode?? 2) If the pipes were installed without the chip then the engine warning light would go on due to the removal of the CAT. They did say they could sell me an inline unit for the lamda sensors that would counteract the signal and stop the warning light. However they said that they could not garantee that it would work. This I found quite poor for a purpose build unit. If anyone has such pipes installed and has any experince of this then it would be appreciated. If anyone has ever done a rolling road pre and post, then all the better.
