Some scrote has half-inched my cigar lighter while parked with the roof down! Anyone have a spare one or is it going to have to be £20 on ebay for the whole kaboodle?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

A bargain £5.82 from OPC for a whole replacement socket and lighter (they only come as a pair). Fitting takes a minute - instructions here: http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=54650
It is odd how one assumes that OPC will be rip-off merchants. I don't even smoke but it looks crap having a hole in the dash
I've got one that doesn't get used if you cant get hold of one, You can have it if you pm me you're address. I have a neat USB cigar lighter power supply instead [£8.99 Maplins]. TB
I'm liking that USB port. FOR SALE: one Porsche cigarette lighter.
I like that, too. For sale - 2 Porsche cigarette lighters.
They are now a bit more expensive: -MY01 - 996.652.101.00 - £8.40 inc VAT MY02- - 997.652.101.00.A05 - £12.00 ic VAT Still cheaper than eBay, no doubt!
You need to find an OPC with the "old" stock on the shelf and at the old price. There is no product difference, just a bizarre bookkeeping exercise. Plus don't forget your 10%+ PCGB discount (if applicable).
I think I have genuinely got a spare (never smoked) ciggie lighter (just need to check my odds and sods shelf in the garage), as I kept the ciggie insert when I swapped out a matching pair when the socket shorted (thanks to a mate forcing some phone charger or similar into the socket). PM me and I'll send it over.
GT4 PM'd you.
I think early and facelift cars are different sizes (later ones are smaller and wont fit the early socket) but hey lets all go for the USB.
I think that is how my mate broke my (996.1) socket. The early ones aren't "industry standard". Fortunately pontypool is a 996.1, as are TBrown and GT4 (excuse the third person).
Aha! Appears to be 21mm diameter.
In the post.
Here's a link to the USB power supply as there seems to be a bit of interest. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=274029 TB
