I've noticed that my CD-Roms (MP3) are slow to eject from the single CD slot in the PCM unit. Ive tried a few brands but they are all thicker than a normal audio CD (thats the way they are manufactured) and obviously the tolerence on the player is tight. In fact looking through the paperwork the previous owner had a CD get trapped in the unit that needed extracting under warranty. Am I just unlucky or is this a known problem and if so are there any brands of CD-Rom that dont exhibit the problem? BTW I have thought about fitting an IPOD interface but believe it or not doing this would invalidate the Porsche warranty so have to stick with a none IPod solution for the time being. Thanks Keith

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have not had problems with ejecting CD's of any kind.....yet. However, the unit seems to be sensitive to the quality of the recording or maybe the CDR itself. (i.e., the faster you rip the tunes onto the disk, the more likely songs will skip while being played in the PCM). Usually after a file error it will revert to the first song on the disk. I have one CDR which played all 148 songs on it with only one song appearing to be screwed up, 2 other CDR's will make it about 2/3 of the way through before skipping to the beginning. I have dared not put in my older (2001 and earlier) audio CD's (burned by myself as opposed to commercial albums) which had custom labels on them - they tend to have problems spinning up to speed at home and had skipping problems in the old car. If I really want to hear those setlists I just reburn them on new disks. I think a good iPod interface or even a simple AUX jack would have made this all moot but for now I'll stick with this CD, the satellite radio and the flat 6 for my entertainment needs.
CD-R's with labels like Neato and other companies can cause problems because they increase the thinkness and in some cases (I was told) add friction and rub against the eject mechanizm. I have seen this happen in one of my older laptops as well as my previous Boxster. I do not use them much in my Cayman.
CD's with the add-on labels will not load on my Mac's CD drive, period. So definitely they will not go into my Cayman.
