Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Called them up for a quote today. Works out about £200 more expensive than the cheapest option, but with half the excess, cover for 2 trackdays annually notified in advance (on the face of it that seems very generous) and probably better peace of mind/ customer service. The usual NCB protection/ legal/ courtesy car cover all rolled in. U/w by Aviva, who gave me a quote 1.5x what Porsche did when contacted directly. Main drawback is having to pay 22.5% of the unexpired premium for cancelling mid-year. Does that seem worth paying extra for overall? Have been with Esure up to now (with a silly excess) - no complaints, but then no claims either...

POST 2Original post

While I've been sorting my insurance out this last week I've seen quite a lot of good feedback on here for them, my quote was just too much more or I'd have seriously considered them. In the end I've gone with an Allianz policy through Bridle, not the absolute cheapest option but seems a good balance overall. Esure refused to even quote for me on my new '05 997 C2S so I'm moving on from them...

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My Esure policy was originally on another car but I transferred it over to the C4S. I was told their underwriters don't let them insure high risk cars if the driver is younger than 30 (I turned 30 the week before buying it !)

POST 4Original post

its weird, mine is about halfway through a year on my outgoing Audi TT, i'm 33 with 7 years no claims, no points, don't live in a crack den... they still wouldn't let me change it over and just offered a refund pro-rata for the unused portion. any way, I'll not lose sleep over it, probably best to be with an insurer that deals with this type of car more often 20 hours to go.... 8) 8) 8)
