Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I have all the Parts needed to Tune with the EVOMS RS350 or RS370 Tune but are the Horsepower and Torque Gains for real??? -Can you get 370hp out of the 3.4 Naturally Aspirated??? -Is it still reliable (as reliable as a M97 engine gets lol) -Is it still very Drivable (street) I won't be Racing the car but I'm a spirited driver and want to get the most out of it NA. Im ready to pull the trigger on a tune and so far this is the one that stands out to me. Mods: 200 cell Headers Cat Back (probably going to straight pipe) K&N Filter Underdrive Pulley IPD plenum and 82mm TB (even though I'm concerned with power loss or little to no gain from what Ive read. But It came with the car and the tuners tell me I Need it or these Tunes)? Thanks In Advance

No input because most likely no one knows for sure. I took a look at the HP/TQ curves supplied by EVOMS. Note the curves begin at 3000 rpm and that the improvement does not come on till you are over 4500 rpm. Most NA systems that increase breathing at the high end in order to get more HP will steal torque from the low end. Also note: You still have the torque dip around 5300 rpm and the real HP gain peak doesn't show up till around 6300 rpm. You said your not going to be racing the car. So ask yourself: with my style of street driving how much time do I spend between 4500 and 6300 rpm? Because that is the only place you may feel the HP gain. My educated guess is: yes MAYBE you can get 25% more power out of a Porsche NA engine. But you will pay in engine drivability and flexibility. Given the fine German engineering you will probably not see any significant change in over all reliability. Personally I would not do it, but good luck!

really appreciate the input.. Thanks a bunch. I was sort of on the same train of thought. Thanks Again!!!

The gains on a NA platform will likely be marginal. Why risk reliability issues on marginal gains, especially when HP/$ gains are likely to be low. You'd be much better off spending your hard-earned cash on tires, brakes, suspension or weight loss.
