Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

... if you havn't experienced the Cayman with an aftermarket exhaust. I went to my exhaust shop today and had the take off my malfunctioing AWE exhaust and put on the stock exhaust before my trip to the Tail of the Dragon, and when I picked my car up; it wasn't the same car. I can only describe what I drove today as docile . The low-end grunt is gone; the car noticibly travels through gears slower until you get above 5,000 RPM. Not to mention the beautiful burble at idle, and the ripping roar of accelleration are no longer present. Now when I drive down the road cruising between 2,500 - 3,500 RPM, I hear my tires... I used to hear what I can only describe as a beast breathing but ready to break free at any second. The stock exhaust has left me a little dissapointed, if you can't tell, it's holding our boxer back. This is gonna be a long few days without the aftermarket exhaust... I hope AWE can get my replacement built soon.

POST 2Original post

Did you ever wash your car suneet? You know that is good for at least ten mental h.p.

POST 3Original post

SF, I actually did wash it today... but the predicted thunderstorms this evening will make it a waste of my time Since I've been back in FL (Jul. 2nd), there hasn't been a single day without some rain... my car really is a "croc" - Suneet

POST 4Original post

Suneet, what did you pay for your exhaust and where did you get it?

POST 5Original post

Tony, I got it directly from AWE during their Christmas Sale for $1,595 shipped. When we meet up, provided the new one is out to me, I'll let you take the car for a spin and see what you think of the difference. I actually enjoy the few opportunities I get to hear the exhaust from outside the car. - Suneet

POST 7Original post

I would agree with your sentiment. I had a more drastic transition as I tried a Cayman with a 2.7 and a stock exhaust. Compared to the CS w/AWE, the Cayman feels like pokey. Yeah, I know that isn't a fair test ... Btw, my favorite time to hear the exhaust is when I go through a tunnel. It makes my wife cringe every time. Too bad you are w/out yours b/c there are some great tunnels in the Smokeys.

POST 8Original post

Do you also have the EVO air intake? Im getting an AWE and EVO + CIAC for my 2.7

POST 9Original post

Moto, I have the evo and awe, but no GIAC. Croc-ket, with all the girls at UF gone for the summer, I need something to love...

POST 10Original post

You can tell that much from your "Butt Dyno"? Bonus.

POST 11Original post

I've just removed the "tubi" exhaust from my car and gone back to stock (too loud for my taste , must be gettin old !) along with the evo and de-snork it did feel quite a bit quicker and far more exciting though. Will definatly get another exhaust soon though as it does feel a bit flat now , hoping the fabspeed group buy will come off

POST 12Original post

You should do the free mod exhaust from the article section, it sounds louder.

POST 13Original post

I did the free exhaust mod before I fitted the tubi , no comparison , the tubi is much louder .

POST 14Original post

Suneet, I've been away and work has been busy....I didn't know you were having issues with your AWE. When I drove your car briefly a while ago it sounded great. Unfortunately my money has been completely diverted into my other hobbies and haven't jumped on an exhaust yet. What is your issue with the AWE? PM me or point me to a thread. Thanks.
