Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Houston, we have a problem!! Wife was transporting a rug in her car which was hanging over the flap thingie that covers some of the hood mechanism and flips up and and down during the hood raising / lowering process.  She forgot to take the rug out before putting the hood up, and it appears something has broken or become damaged / slipped per attached photo, as the flap is now sticking up on the spring tension.  It looks as though there is a wire cable that pulls the flap down, and this is what isn't working properly. I can't track down an actual name for the flap, but has anyone else struck this problem, if so how did they fix, or is there a Youtube video of the fix?

Nah, not yet.  I think it will have to be a mechanic fix....  Car due for a service shortly anyway
