Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, I did a search but cant really find anything. I am sure you guys must chat about this before. I am getting my Cayman in July (Hopefully) and want to put my little 3 years old girl beside me. The questions is can we turn off the passenger side airbag in the Cayman? Thanks in advance!

I'm not 100% on this, but I don't believe the ability to turn that off would comply with the ADR's.  I have a car that overseas has a switch located on the end of the instrument panel to disable the front seat airbag, but that isn't fitted to the australian version of the car  (Peugeot RCZ).  I may be totally wrong though.

Hey Gnrnr, In Australia, if your car doesnt have the back seats (2 seaters). You can put your child in front. For Peugeot RCZ, it is a 2+2, it cannot put child seat in front.

So nothing in the manual  then about disabling it.  Dumb q, could you pull the fuse when she is in?

POST 5Original post

I think Aussie cars have a weight sensor which auto disables the passenger airbag.

Every time I get into my 987.1 , I feel I do sit in a child seat. 😆

Do I look like a child? 😂 By the way: lost 20+ kg and keep going. Slowly growing into my seat. 😅 👍

Nice work Arne.  I think i may need to do the work to achieve those kinds of losses.
