Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Having squeezed my Carrera 4 996 Cab into my garage (with hardtop on) I want a tailored, good quality car cover (preferably with a massive Porsche logo on it!). Any tips? - there are some on fleabay that seem tailored but they are a fairly dreary grey....

POST 2Original post

I have a custom cover from these guys, and happy with it. www.classicadditions.com or these guys do similar thing www.specialisedcarcovers.com

POST 3Original post

I bought mine off ebay for £150. It was original new tequipment and a rather fetching pale green colour (I guess why it was cheap!) with that nice big porsche logo. Seller was buycarcare - they still seem to have them priced at £199 for buy it now or "make an offer". I did that for £150 and it was accepted. You could always try and go a bit lower! They are good quality covers - tailored for the wing mirrors etc.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What are they made out of? Are they lined? Easy to put on - and will they tear eventually do you think? Hard to tell from the piccies....looks terrific though...

POST 5Original post

My reading of their site is that buycarcare only sells one size cover to fit the 993,996 and 997, although the 997 is 8 inches longer than the 993. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PORSCHE-911-997-996-993-CAR-COVER-AND-CARRY-CASE-/280548114251

POST 6Original post

It is lined - has a soft cotton (I think) lining, with a synthetic exterior. It is easy to put on although quite snug. I will try and post a couple of pics in the next couple of days (car is in reading having a PSE fitted today) and also see if it has a serial number on it somewhere.
