So I need to get a new rear wheel because some idiot decided to sideswipe me..... The wheel on the car is part number 987.362.139.03 . I have found several that will work, they all say it is the same as the one on my car , but the number is 987.362.139.01 Does anyone know if these will be an exact match in style and fitment ? When I try to look up the 01 number it says discontinued but crosses with a 2009-10-11-12 Cayman? Im lost

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The last digits (.01, ,03) are a revision number. It could be a slight change in design but often just means the OEM supplier changed. In your case, get a picture and see if there are any visual differences that would be noticeable. Chances are good there isn't and the older revision would be fine.
