'07 Cayman 2.7 with halogens. I was pushing in my H9 high beam bulb assembly and didn't realize the gasket was not set right. I was pushing too hard and broke the high beam reflector from its mounting stubs. I can see the screws and the broken stubs. The reflector looks replaceable if you could get to it. Has anyone taken the whole headlight assembly apart? To anyone doing this- Make sure the gasket behind the bayonet is back in its groove and ready to be put back in place before you insert the lamp. It takes only light pressure to engage the bayonet enough to turn. Yikes! I'm screwed! Edit: I will probably start a junkyard search. Is the Cayman headlight housing the same as Boxster? Anyone have the part #for '07 driver side housing? Thanks, C.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I believe it's a sealed unit. Hopefully I'm wrong. We'll know soon enough.
I think I fixed my headlight with my first ever purchase of JB Weld. I think this was a perfect application for JB Weld with its 600F max temp and metal filler. I connected 3 rubber bands together and snaked them through the H9 socket hole and back through the slot under the reflector. I found two good attachment points and got it all set. I could push the broken reflector forward and it would spring back into place. I then mixed up a batch of JB Weld, pushed the broken joint(s) open, put the epoxy all around with a stick and let it spring back into place. I then made a few fillets here and there to shore it up. The next day it was solid. I will road test it tonight... I hope I saved about $500! Maybe I could be one of those testimonials on the package.. or would that be too embarrassing for you all; "man fixes $865 Porsche headlight for $6.50".
