In the process of upgrading to a Cayman R rear sway bar , and I'm stuck. Current sway bar is loose, but I see no way of snaking out the old bar (let alone snaking in a thicker bar) without removing the large triangular brace that covers the rear section of the undercarriage. Even removing a rear wheel does not give me the necessary clearance. Everyone says this is a 30-minute job, so what am I missing? 2012 Cayman ... thanks!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm not sure what you're missing without any photos but you're missing something. Dis-connect the drop-links, In the attached photo near the "red bushing" note the clamp holding the bar. Remove that clamp on both sides, the bar should come right out without removing the triangular brace
i looked at it again. I just don't see a way to snake out the sway bar without removing a lot of other bracing first.
Resurrecting an Old thread. I am having same issue when removing my Cayman R rear bar. See attached. I think the axle protector plate will need to be removed. Can anyone confirm that? Maybe the R sway bar is larger than non-R and process is different? And is there anything unique about removing that plate I should be aware of? Thanks for any input.
