caneaddict was discussing in this forum how he had a prospective seller that backed out at the last minute when he was trying to sell his ordered-GT2. This is obviously something that sellers of all exotic cars have experienced. In this vein, then, I'm curious to know what's the funniest/strangest story that has been given to you when trying to sell your exotic. The closer to the finish line the excuse was given, the better. Heck, let's make it when trying to sell any vehicle that you've owned. Here's mine: I was trying to sell my 318i BMW a couple of years ago in Asia, where I was based. Beautifully modified, nice rims, paint still shone, etc -- car was amazing (hey, its me, after all). Had a couple of interested buyers. Narrowed it down to one guy -- not only because of the price he was willing to pay, but because he seemed to be a good guy, and somebody who would take care of my baby. Anyways, we agree to a transaction, and the next day he is supposed to come with the check. Well I get a call, about an hour before we are supposed to meet, and he tells me he's just been fired from his job and the bank is going to repossess his house. On top of that he notes that his ex-wife is served him alimony papers, and that he will be facing a very real declaration of bankruptcy in the near future. I was kinda of PO'd, but if the guy had to deal with that much of bad news in one day, I really just didn't have the heart to get angry with him. Regards.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. You believed him? (not that it would have made any difference)
Mine was, "My company just filed for chapter 11," but once I drove a Boxter, an Audi TT, AND saw the car I ordered I decided, "awwww screw it life's too short."
[quote] You believed him? (not that it would have made any difference)

Not really. The story was so incredulous, who would have. But it was hard to respond to something like that. I mean, what do you say. I guess that's why I wanted to title this thread -"The Lamest... " Regards.
