Hey, I saw a few threads on the brightness of the CDR-30 when driving at night, but I didn't see anyone talking about turning the display off completely ( in a 2011 Cayman S ). I find the display a real distraction at night, and would like to completely turn it off. Does anyone know of a way to do that? ( Without turning off the car. ) Thanks.
Is there a way to turn the CDR-30 display off completely?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

press the left hand round button (volume) and hold for a few seconds to turn the unit off....
If you want to keep the display active (say for the parking sensors) but (almost) black, press the CD AUX button once or twice. You´ll just see two very dim plugs - that is, if you don´t have the AUX connected. Ernst
Thanks folks! Much appreciated. - Mike
