Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

As the cold weather has set in, it's become quite common that the Bose system in my '08 BS starts making clicking, popping, and even small thumping sounds immediately after opening the driver's side door. After I start the car, normally this continues for 10 seconds or so and then goes away. Often the head unit will not put out any sound after that, even though it shows"Porsche" in the display. I've also found that if I stop the car and restart it, often then the radio comes back and functions normally. I don't know for certain, but it seems to be related to the ambient temperature - on the colder days, it's much more likely to happen. I did a quick search on this forum and didn't find anything. Has anybody experienced this before? Any ideas on what the problem may be?

POST 2Original post

I have had the popping and clicking issue happen once in the middle of an otherwise normal drive. Radio was fine for 10 or 15 minutes, then started clicking and popping.... Turned the radio off and back on a few minutes later and it was fine again. Don't remember the temp being a factor or not. Not much help I know, but I have had the popping and clicking.

POST 3Original post

I had the same issue on an Audi TT roadster after a wash. Water was getting into the electronics

POST 4Original post

That could be it. It's been raining here for a while as well. I'll have a look around in the frunk & see if there is any moisture present.
