I recently purchased a 2013 Boxster base. I have read numerous times online and in porsche manuals that the weight and cargo limit is around 780 pounds. But when i read the sticker on the inside drivers door it says that the weight of combined cargo and passengers should not exceed 485 pounds. That is quite a difference. Does anyone know the real answer?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I don't, but I know in my 986, which I imagine would be able to carry less, I've certainly gone over 500 on a handful of occasions. So no instant, catastrophic problems...but maybe some more suspension wear. Hill starts are probably pretty hard on the clutch once you add that much... Any thoughts from someone that's done more regularly?
I thought the accepted standard was no fat chicks........
I was more referring to two big guys (240x2 plus cargo). adds up fast
