Hi Chaps I have had my bonnet and bumper touched in but the guy decided to spray the entire bonnet. he did a fantastic job apart from one thing.....he removed the sticker under the bonnet as he "didn't think it was important"!!!????....... :frustrated: Is it possible to get a new one? I don't want people thinking the car has got a dodgy history when it hasn't!!! Thanks

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am looking forward to the responses on this one.. I have always been informed the sticker is sacrosanct and you cant get a replacement. I may be wrong and wiser people will be along than me.
Officially no you can not. There are companies out there like vintags ect that say they can reproduce the datacard...? Mike
I userstand these are available at (no joke) £100 (or possibly more palatably EUR 100, but there isn't much in it) The problem is they are a special order to the factory, presumably there is an OPC admin charge in there too. You could either photocopy/scan the label in the front of your service book or if you are a Word/Photoshop wiz, knock one up from scratch. That, or take heart no 997 has them (cost cutting probably!).
Nor most MY2005 996's.
I was thinking of mentioning the late models, but then it didn't sound sufficiently derogatory to the 997!
I have no sticker on my 993 either - exactly the same thing happened to me - bodyshop removed the sticker ages ago when they sprayed the underneath of the bonnet. As long as you have the one in the service book it's not the end of the world- or shouldn't be.
I took a few hi-res photo's of my 'sticker' just in case anything ever happens to it for this very reason!
Glad you mentioned that Richard. I have no sticker under the bonnet nor in my service book. All checks out okay with Porsche, certificate of authenticity etc but the OPC at Sutton C. investigated and said that Porsche do not reissue the labels.
