Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Offhand who has the best deal on one of these, and how much are they? TIA

POST 2Original post

I bought a hoist assembly from MidAmerica (Tweeks/MADVette) which I think was ~$100? It works fine although does tend to want to swing/rotate if you aren't careful. Mine is kind of like the block/tackle assembly that is pretty smooth, plus it has the wide padded support bar. (To tell you the truth, the same assembly in tweeks is more expensive than the same part from the MidAmerica 'Vette catalogue. I guess they assume Porsche customers will pay more - I paid the 'Corvette' price!) You can spend a LOT more if you want a powered version but I considered that a complete waste of time for the number of times I do this. Also, if you are removing the top on your own then the electric version probably won't help you much anyway - the top isn't heavy, just awkward. I recommend that you get a trolley to support the top and cover. Hope this helps

POST 3Original post

I did the R&D for the one that Performance Products sells. I think I like it better than the tweeks one only because I beleive the bar puts creases in the top. The one I did has special hooks that don't touch the seals. I'm guessing they are about the same $$. Cheers Dayton
