Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I bought a set of 993 C4S wheels to mount my track tires on for my '02 C4S and the offset if different by 5mm on the rear (40 vs 45). To make it "perfect" I would need 5mm spacers (saw that Gert has them)...my question is will 5mm (10mm total) make that much difference? I know I'm not a good enough driver to notice this or am I missing the point? TIA. Mike '02 C4S

POST 2Original post

Mike, The spacer is mostly going to be for looks. First, try the 40 mm wheels on and make sure the inner lips do not touch any of the suspension parts. I doubt that you'll have a problem. Once you have them on, see if they look funny relative to the fender edges. If so, you could get the spacers from Gert.
