Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This may seem like a trivial problem, but it's very annoying. The external temperature reading on the main PCM 2 screen constantly reads about 10 degrees higher than it should be. I have a 2003 C4 and have checked out the sensor at the front air intake and it seems fine. Any suggestions?

POST 2Original post

There is a outside temp sensor on the 996 which is located in the front bumper grill(off-side I think but if not, look at the near-side) It looks a bit like a crimbo tree light and they often do get damaged and/or not replaced, especially if the car has had a minor shunt and/or the bumper removed. just did a search and found http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?p=589727&sid=e4073cdce928e37dc3b0a4c16b1e715e
