Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

P0171 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Idle Range, Bank 1 – Above Limit Diagnosis conditions - Oxygen sensing system active - Time elapsed after engine start-up: 250 to 350 seconds (USA) - Time elapsed after engine start-up: 302 to 402 seconds (RoW) - Engine temperature greater than 60 °C Possible fault cause ♦ Incorrect signal from MAF sensor ♦ Intake air system leaking ♦ Fuel pressure too low ♦ Volume supply of fuel pump too low ♦ Fuel injectors fouled ♦ PCV valve leaks ♦ Cap of oil filler neck not closed correctly or seal is damaged

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks a lot. Will get it looked at.Just wondered do you guys think the smoke on start up from passenger exhaust and the code are linked?

POST 5Original post

Because you are getting the fault on one bank only, it would point to one of the possible causes that relates to one bank. That would rule out the MAF, fuel pressure, etc. The one I would investigate first would be an injector, which might also be causing the smoke if it is over-fuelling on one cylinder.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Richard, what would we do without you. Many thanks. Will post back soon.
