Is it for your 968? if yes it depends on how much power you want to loose really, 10 or so bhp seems about normal, or if you are really lucky you can get it to under S2 power. Ok I know i'm being a sarcastic sod but my vote is to stick with standard & consider ECU re-mapping as you can be up to 250ish bhp. Edited to add- nowt wrong with BMC in particualar as they seem to do the business on the GT3, its just the 968 seems to work best with standard >> Edited by iguana on Friday 13th June 19:23

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Interesting one Paul, I have looked at various filter options in the past & I'm not convinced. Without a freeflow exhaust the gains are negligable & many of the open cone design's actually loose power, as their design ingests hot air direct from a very hot engine. From what I found out the "enclosed" designs worked better, but even then people had problems with flat spotsin the rev range etc.Best to either just replace the filter in the standard housing or look at one of the more expensive ram air systems along with that sports exhaust.
Thanks for the responses guys,to be honest I was just looking for a regular cartridge type to fit in the stsndard airbox..I thought I had heard good things about BMC,,I am not interested in a cone type, induction kit thing...
I have a BMC filter installed in my 993 TT. Speak to Ajay at Scuderia and he will sort you out.
Many thanks Turbo free,,,unfortunately I have ordered one today from Stuttgart Connection,,,cheers anyhow!
I fitted a replacement BMC filter in my M3 and definitely noticed a difference. How much of that was placebo effect I am not sure, but above 5k rpm it certainly sounds a lot nicer!. C
Has anyone fitted a replacement BMC air filter to their Porsche,,,I have heard good reviews, but haven't been able to find a supplier on the net. That is because I don't drive a Saxo at the moment.Any ideas where to get one? Ready for BMC austin/Morris...jokes!!!!
