Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Link here .. https://youtu.be/EwakFlGvgMs Audio didnt work .. sorry . The tabs at the beginning are what you need to bend out to remove it .. this is not listed in the Porsche instructions , a small flat bladed screwdriver and you try and lever out each side whilst pulling on the adjuster .. you finish with levering the base at that pin . Next part is the 6 locking tabs . The metal plate is often loose and causes a rattle .. bend the fingers a bit to give then a tighter fit. if it rattles then perhaps something like spray grease on the adjuster that moves up and down and the contact points of the various parts . Couple of images below . Ive posted this in the 996 and 997 forums as this applys to both cars .

Thanks for this :thumb: Both of mine are in bits right now, due to excessive rattling/creaking from the plastic covers. Can rebuild them now.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
