How many of you have installed one? I've read that some (maybe all?) of the pulleys available for the 987.1 requires that one shaves off a small nub on the engine block (it's a raised protrusion that is hollow and has a notch for a TDC lock)... is this the case with all of the upgraded underdrive pulleys? If not, which are designed to avoid this surgical procedure? Thanks in advance.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

The short answer is yes you have to grind off the boss. I suggest you search on this topic. There are a ton of posts. May even be a how to do it article. I did it on my 07 CS many moons ago and it was pretty easy.
