Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

I was having a hard time deinserting the V1 from its holder so I sanded off some of the parts that was making it deinsert with high forces. In doing so, I am wondering if this could be a safety issue? It now comes out with about 3-5lb force, I would guess the original was about 15-20 lb or so. I guess in most accidents objects will want to go forward making it moot for that case, but not sure about if I get hit from behind if it would want to pop out and try to kill me. I am probably being overly cautious, but would be good to hear some thoughts on this. Oh yeah...in aerostructures we design for 9g crash condition so with the V1 weighing about 7oz this would be roughly a 9g deinsertion force...and again in the direction very unlikely to see 9g.
